Welcome Message Unit 2

Hello everyone. My name is Tonya and I have the exciting desk job lifestyle of working for an insurance company. Obviously I am kidding about the exciting part. I am not a fan of the desk job lifestyle and hope through getting a degree in health and a personal training certification I can have a more exciting job that includes more physical activity. I am really enjoying the parts of this class that includes topics like spirituality and guided imagery. So far this is turning out to be one of my favorite classes. My experience with the relaxation exercise was very good. I have a lot of stress going on right now so it helped me to slow down the non-stop activity in my mind and ease the tension in my muscles. I really enjoyed it and would love to try more relaxation exercises in the future.

  1. Tonya,
I truly understand what you mean by a "desk job lifestlye" and how frustrating that can be. I always think of this ESPN commercial: a news reporter is looking out his office window, dressed up as an Oregon duck....he sees other ducks playing on the pond...and he sighs as he goes back to his desk work. It is important every so often to get out and swim in the pond to keep things in perspective and not be dragged down by the office desk.

  2. Hi, Tonya
I can too understand the "desk job life style" as I have been there ny self in the past and hear about it from my daughters on a daily basis. I really enjoy this class as well for the relaxation techniques that I have learned as it has helped me in the stressful situations I have come across. I am hopeing to apply all that we are learning on over all well being on a daliy basis.

  3. Hello Tonya,
Desk jobs are not too bad when you need it. Like right now because school is so demanding my desk job isn't too much to handle. So it works but I do look forward to having a better more active job in future.

  4. Hello Tonya,

I work 12 hour shifts in a inner city Emergency Department. Sometimes the desk sounds really appealing. Looking forward to your future posts.
